, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 20, 2013Kicking Butte (Bend, OR) – This year, Deschutes Brewery is toasting 25 years with the 6th vintage of its Imperial Porter, Black Butte XXV and just to keep things sexy, they are kicking things up some this year.The bourbon barrel aged portion of the beer was increased by 20% over past versions of this anniversary brew, and drinkers of Black Butte XXV will notice notes of vanilla, tart and dried fruit, and chocolate in this release. This year’s Black Butte weighs in at an unforgiving 11.3% ABV and will be introduced in 22 oz. wax-dipped bottles and on draft in the next few weeks.

Brewlywed Ale will be available for purchase next Wednesday, June 26, from 7 am – 1 pm at the Boston Brewery and you’d better get there early. With just 300 cases of this limited edition wedding beer available, we guarantee you – lines will form early. Samuel Adams Brewlywed Ale will be packaged in decorated 750 mL, cork-finished bottles and we promise you they’re going to go fast – so you know what to do!

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 20, 2013Tröegs Starting From Scratch (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Brewing Company has just released a special single hop Pale Ale as part of their Scratch Beer Series. Scratch #100 Single Hop El Dorado Pale Ale was brewed using something they call a Hop Gun that extracts precious oils directly from pelletized hops. Scratch #100 is a 6.3% ABV hop and citrus blast and it’s now available on draft and for growler fills only.

Clusters Last Stand(Portsmouth, NH) – Smuttynose Brewing Company has announced a partnership with San Diego’s Stone Brewing Co. for the New Hampshire brewer’s first collaboration brew. Cluster’s Last Stand takes its name from the “Cluster,” once the king of American-grown hops,and is a limited release recreation of the legendary Ballantine IPA, complete with the original retro hop varieties. “Cluster’s Last Stand is a tribute to the original American IPAs and the hops that made them great,” said Smuttynose Director of Brewing Operations David Yarrington. “While the name started out as a way to lampoon a hop variety whose moment had passed, we realized that working with Stone, and particularly in the wake of Brewmaster Mitch Steele’s book (IPA: Brewing Techniques, Recipes and the Evolution of India Pale Ale) that this was the perfect way to create a serious tribute to the earliest American IPAs and to showcase some important, but forgotten hops that many ‘aficionados’ find passé in 2013.”

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 20, 2013Avery Flagships Go 12-Pack Cans (Boulder, CO) – Avery Brewing Co. has announced that they’ll be releasing two of their classics in 12 oz. can 12-packs in mid-June. Both Avery IPA and White Rascal Belgian-style White Ale will be offered in this format for the first time ever and we’re pretty damn excited about that!

Daredevil Goes on Vacation (Shelbyville, IN) – Daredevil Brewing Co., the makers of Lift Off IPA, have announced the release of their newest limited edition beer. Daredevil Vacation Kölsch is a 5.0% ABV limited release that coincides perfectly with the brewery’s summer holiday week and will be available on draft in central and southern Indiana beginning next Monday, June 24.
