Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For

So many beers, So little time… The Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest is taking place in Paso Robles this weekend and wait till you read about the special collaboration beer that they will be debuting there! We have that for you  plus we’ve some new releases from Wild Heaven and Odell that sound exceptionally awesome as well.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForViva La Piccola (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker is throwing their legendary Invitational Beer Fest next weekend and they’ll be debuting a special collaboration that they did with Birrificio Italiano  one of Italy’s most exciting craft breweries. La Piccola is a collaborative Dark Saison w/Peppercorns that’s brewed with de-bittered black malt, that’s then soured via secondary fermentation and barrel-aged for12 months in French oak barrels. And did we mention, it’s also spiced with Sichuan peppercorns? This beer just might be amazing and we’ll definitely be chasing it down when we’re out there.

Civilized Drinking (Decatur, GA) – Wild Heaven recently released their first barrel-aged release as part of their Last Wing Collection. Wild Heaven Height of Civilization is a 12% ABV Barleywine brewed with dried Prussian lemons, Iranian hibiscus, tart cherries, cranberries, and cocoa nibs, then aged for four months in Dulce Vida Organic Tequila barrels. Whew!

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out ForImperial Thievery (Fort Collins, CO)  Odell Brewing is finally bottling a popular favorite that got its start as part of the brewery’s pilot system program and up till now, has only been available on draft. Odell Barrel Thief is a 9.4% ABV Imperial IPA that’s been stashed away and aged for months in American Oak barrels. This oak-aged Imperial Pale Ale is available now in 750ml bottles, and in their tap room starting on May 29th.

Stochasticity Mixes It Up (Escondido, CA)  The latest experimental offering from Stone’s experimental Stochasticity Project looks to traditional, English-style stock ales for inspiration, while incorporating modern-day brewing and blending techniques. The Stone Stochasticity Project HiFi+LoFi Mixtape is composed of 80 percent fresh English Ale (LoFi) blended with a higher-ABV version (HiFi) of the same beer that was aged for several months in red wine-infused oak foudres. This one-time, 8.8% ABV blended release is out there now – so you know what to do.

Hot Doings (Atlanta, GA) – Monday Night Brewing has introduced their Clip-On Series where they  take one of their core beers (in this one, Eye Patch Ale) and do something different with it. Serrano Eye Patch Ale takes their popular 6.2% ABV IPA and infuses it with hundreds of fresh Serrano peppers for a brew that shows some heat along with a great pepper aroma.
