Sours are now more popular than ever, and fruit-infused beers have become the new summer-staple. So here are five seasonal“newbies” that you might want to check out…

Berry Good (Asheville, NC) – Highland Brewing has a new seasonal, hitting the market soon that’s bright, subtly tart and fruit-forward. Brewed with seven and a half pounds of 100% raspberry puree per barrel that was added at the most aggressive stage of fermentation, Highland Big Briar Tart Raspberry Ale is that rarity – an approachable 5.4% ABV refresher with a touch of tartness and all natural ingredients.

Cherry Oh! (Ft Collins, CO) – Fort Collins Brewery has just announced the latest release from uber-popular Savor Series. FCB Kettle-Soured Dark Cherry Imperial Red Ale is an 8.3% ABV small batch offering, brewed with dark cherries that were added during the fermentation process, for that hint of sweetness that matches smartly with the beer’s rounded sour profile.

Just Peachy (St Louis, MO) – Schlafly Beer has a new fruit-forward take on the classis Saison that they’ve just released as part of their super-cool Frugi-Four Sampler Pack. Brewed in the tradition of Northern France’s famed farmhouse ales, but with the addition of peach added during fermentation, Schlafly Peach Saison is a 6% ABV cloudy Wheat Ale with a soft sweetness and just a hint of spice.

, Newbies Alert – New Sour Ales And Fruited BeersJuiced!  (Ft Collins, CO) – One of the first major craft breweries to get serious about brewing with fruit, New Belgium Brewing, has just returned something fruity that they first debuted in 2016. Abundantly fueled on both watermelon and lime peel, New Belgium Juicy Watermelon Ale is a 5% ABV special release that’s primed and timed for the changing seasons.

Siblings Sour (Cooperstown, NY) – Brewery Ommegang is introducing a tart new year-round this month that they crafted along with the master blenders at their sister brewery, Liefmans, in Oudenaarde, Belgium. Described as a beer that drinks “much like white wine,” Ommegang Pale Sour is a 6.9% ABV mixed culture creation, that’s both sweet and sour, and unique in that it’s not wood-aged.
