So many beers- So little time… More early fall seasonals this week and we’ve a number of interesting new offerings that you’ll want to chase down…Plus we’ve some new releases from Ninkasi and Heavy Seas Beer that sound pretty serious as well.
Bring An Umbrella (Pacific City, OR) – Due to its immediate popularity Pelican Brewing is making a newly introduces spring seasonal, a year-round offering. Pelican’s Umbrella a New-World IPA is a clean, crisp, 7.4% single-hop-forward India Pale Ale.
Black-Hearted (Bend, OR) – One of Deschutes‘ most beloved Reserve Series releases quietly dropped last week. Brewed to celebrate the brewery’s 27th birthday. Deschutes Black Butte XXVII is an 11.5% imperialized/double version of their classic Black Butte Porter.
Hoppy Anniversary! (Crozet, VA) – Starr Hill is their sixteenth birthday and they’ve brewed up something very special for it. Hopfetti Triple IPA is a double dry-hopped India Pale Ale that features six different hop varieties. Ansa since IPAs are best enjoyed fresh, Hopfetti comes with a familiar recommendation to “Enjoy by October 31, 2015.”Hopfetti will be released on draft at Starr Hill’s Tap Room on Saturday, (9/5) alongside birthday cupcakes from Charlottesville’s Sweethaus. This small batch of Hopfetti will be released in a limited number of bottles later in the month – so you know what to do.
Craft Noir (Eugene, OR) – Ninkasi has a special release coming out in September that combines two of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite brews – coffee and beer. Ninkasi Noir is a 7.6% Milk Stout brewed with “cold brewed coffee” from Stumptown Coffee Roasters.
The Late-Summer Pumpkin Parade Continues (Baltimore, MD) – This week’s addition to the ongoing pumpkin parade comes from our friends at Heavy Seas. Heavy Seas Great’er Pumpkin is a 10% Imperial Ale with pumpkin and spices that’s aged to perfection in Bourbon barrels.
