In The Mood (Buellton, CA) – Firestone Walker’s Barrelworks has an exciting new collaboration that it did with Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, whose co-founders Adair Paterno and Tim Clifford have created one of the nation’s most notable wild beer programs at their brewery in Capitola, California.
Firestone Walker Big Mood is an 8.1% ABV a Wild Ale that was crafted with Sante Adairius’ special yeast, 2,000 pounds of Blenheim apricots, aged for six months, and then blended with several with a special selection of barrel-aged wine hybrids, all made with local Santa Barbara County white wine grapes.
The wine hybrid side of this beer is really dry and refined in flavor,” said Barrelworks Master Blender Jim Crooks. “It’s reminiscent of an apricot mimosa—it’s one of the most delicious and flamboyant beers we’ve ever made.”
Walk This Way (Milton, DE) – On September 5, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is releasing something worthy in 4pk/16oz cans. An exercise in balance that is bursting with intense hop aromas and flavors, Dogfish Head Walking Run Pale Ale is a 5.6% ABV English-inspired, Maine-style Pale Ale with earthy, mineral undertones and an off-dry finish.
Forest Fired (Cincinnati, OH) – Mad Tree Brewing has a BIG new year-round offering that’s available now in much of Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee. And 1% of its profits will be donated to support environmental sustainability. Mad Tree Phantom Forest is an 8% ABV Imperial IPA with bright stone fruit, berry and tropical hop flavors and a smooth, juicy finish that lingers.
Canned Haze (Hood River, OR) – pFriem Family Brewers is now canning one of its most popular beers and we’re psyched that it is. Bursting with lively tropical aromas of clementine, peach, strawberry, mango, and papaya, and juicy notes of grapefruit, white grape, and whipped citrus, pFriem Hazy IPA is a 7.9% ABV India Pale Ale with a nuanced body of grilled mango and haze.
