Well, it’s still not over, but more states are lightening restrictions and people have begun to crawl out of their homes to toast the ‘new normal.’

And we’ve more fun new releases that will pair smartly with your weekend.

Holler Up (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing has a new Hop Cycle rotating IPA release that began with the brewery’s annual excursion to the Pacific Northwest to select the right hops for this season and next. Brewed with a bright menu of Citra, Simcoe and Galaxy hops that are bound to a sturdy malt backbone, Tröegs Lucky Holler Hazy IPA is a 6.8% ABV hazy, hoppy India Pale Ale with big ripe pineapple, juicy citrus and passionfruit notes.

“We go to Yakima to select hops for the beers that everybody knows and loves,” says Tröegs brewmaster and cofounding brother John Trogner. “Beers like Perpetual IPA, Nimble Giant and Nugget Nectar. And we’re also open to discovering new hops or combinations that might inspire us, an ‘a-ha’ moment where a new recipe starts taking shape.”

Socially Distant Brewing (Dayton, OH) – Warped Wing Brewing isn’t letting the pandemic hold them back. For years they’ve wanted craft a beer with their friends at Land Grant Brewing and now they have…only virtually. Conceived over weeks of Zoom meetings and available on August 20th at both brewery locations, Warped Wing/Land Grant Long-Distance High Five Gose is a 5.2% ABV tart and slightly salty refresher that’s true to the style’s historical roots yet tempered by Ohio’s rich farm country heritage.

“We’ve wanted to partner with each other in the past but timing wasn’t right”, said Nick Bowman, VP/Sales & Marketing and Managing Partner at Warped Wing. “So with the quarantine we thought it would be cool to push the limits and create a virtual collaboration.”

Sweet 16 (Portland, OR) – Ecliptic Brewing is returning an award-winning All the Time Series fav, but this time fan-friendly 16oz cans. Named for some reason after a bright star in the constellation Auriga, Ecliptic Capella Porter is a lively yet approachable 5.2% ABV limited release with sweet, dark aromas and lingering chocolate and caramel notes.

“Cans are taking off and have been for a while now,” says Ecliptic’s Owner and Brewmaster, John Harris. “We’ve seen our customers gravitate towards this package, so we want to give them what they’re looking for- something lighter and a bit more portable. A canned porter is also something we’ve been wanting to try, so this was an exciting transition for us to make.
