The winter holiday season is ON. And American craft brewers are addressing things with a variety of new offerings that pair smartly with the season.
Melvin Releases “Boil Rumble” Championship Beer (Alpine, WY) Melvin Brewing has brewed and is distributing the beer that won its 2019 National Homebrew Contest. The only contest of its kind, The Boil Rumble is sponsored in partnership by Melvin Brewing, MoreBeer!.com Homebrewing Supplies and the Brewing Network to celebrate the homebrewing community and its contribution to the craft beer industry. New England Breakfast Ale, this year’ grand prize winner from the East Bay Homebrew Club of Barrington, RI, is a 5.4% ABV Brown Ale crafted with Grade A maple syrup and locally-roasted coffee. And it’s now available nationally throughout Melvin’s 14 state footprint.
The Force Is Strong (Dallas, TX) – Lakewood Brewing has debuted its last Small Batch Series release of 2019 with a Star War’s inspired name that celebrates the new movie and continuing saga. Lakewood Droid Rage is a 9.3% ABV Imperial Red Ale with a deep amber hue and a caramel sweetness that’s balanced by a smart medley of hops.
Stay Hydrated (Baltimore, MD) – Heavy Seas Beer has announced its first release of 2020. One of the brewery’s haziest IPA’s ever, Heavy Seas Hydra’s Haze is an 8% ABV Hazy India Pale Ale with a slight lingering sweetness and floral, grapefruit trail.
Get Willettized (Petaluma, CA) – Lagunitas Brewing is returning a much-anticipate winter collaboration that it did with Spice Island beans from Metropolis Coffee. Aged in rye oak barrels from Kentucky’s Willett Distillery, Lagunitas Willettized Coffee Stout is a MASSIVE 12.9% ABV limited release that’s available now on draft as well as in 12oz 4-packs.
Flex This (Atlanta, GA / Virginia Beach VA) – New Realm Brewing has a monstrous new limited release that’s available now on draft and in 16oz cans. Crafted with sturdy menu of New Zealand hops and Norwegian Kviek yeast, New Realm Tyrannosaurus Flex is an 8.5% ABV Hazy Double India Pale Ale with fruity mango, pineapple, peach, apricot and citrus tones.
