Pick Up A Hitchhiker (Pittsburgh, PA) – American Craft Beer was recently invited to Pittsburgh to cover its impressive craft beer scene. And we spent an afternoon drinking beer with Andy Kwiatkowski, the Director of Brewing Operations at Hitchhiker Brewing, who sent us home with a serious IPA. Brewed with oats and abundantly hopped with Citra and Simcoe, Hitchhiker Bane Of Existence is a 6.6% ABV India Pale Ale with rich notes of passion fruit, melon, stone fruit and mango, and a lingering finish.
High Times (Austin, TX) – Lone Star Brewing has a new Culture Series Release that celebrates the spirit and taste of Texas’ Big Bend region. Brewed in the Hill Country of Austin with true-Texas ingredients, Lone Star High Desert Days is a 4.6% ABV Wheat-Style Ale which is deftly nuanced with agave nectar that informs but never overpowers.

Bad Ass Brewing At Fiction (Denver, CO) – Fiction Beer Company and Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii have joined forces to create a unique beer that blends barrel-aged cold brewed coffee with an India Pale Ale. Named to pay tribute to “Shark Dialogues,” a novel by Kiana Davenport that’s considered a major contribution to the literature of the Pacific Rim, Fiction Talk-Song is 7% ABV IPA infused with green coffee beans that were aged in bourbon barrels and added to the beer just after fermentation.
“Our collab with Bad Ass Coffee is one of our most unique undertakings, said Ryan Kilpatrick of Fiction Beer Company. “Bringing together the complex characteristics of an IPA, coffee, and whiskey presented an exciting challenge. Together we were able to brew the right beer, roast the right beans, and impart just the right balance of whiskey flavor.”
