New Beer Hall That Celebrates Women In Brewing And Playboy Club To Be Neighbors

Strange bedfellows… A new feminist-themed beer hall scheduled to open next month in NYC will be located just two doors down from a new mid-town Playboy Club.

Ninkasi

Here’s the deal…

According to the New York Post, Treadwell Park, a popular NYC craft-beer venue, is opening a new 6,500-square-foot location on 42nd Street that will honor women’s contributions to the history of beer.

Treadwell Park’s new tasting room will celebrate women and their many contributions to the history of beer “from Ninkasi, the Sumerian goddess of beer, to Hildegard of Bingen, the 12th-Century German mystic and brewmaster.”

And did we mention it will be only two-doors away from a luxurious new Playboy Club that hopes to introduce its own unique brand of sexism to millennials in mid-September?

Not Ninkasi

Making this situation even stranger, according to the New York Post, “is the fact that Abraham Merchant, the New York real estate developer and restaurateur behind the new Playboy Club, is also the guy behind Treadwell Park.”

Treadwell Park’s new feminist-themed West 42nd Street location will feature serious craft beer, indoor and outdoor seating, games like ping-pong, shuffleboard, and pinball machines, as well as large-screen TVs and a giant projector screen.

And while Treadwell Park’s new tasting room might offer images of beer goddesses…if you want your Ninkasi Ale served by women in skimpy bunny outfits, you’ll need to go two doors down.
