As some of you may know (and frankly we’re a little concerned if you do) November 2 has been designated “International Stout Day.” And although we’re not sure anyone needs another official “Beer Day” we’ve some ‘killer’ suggestions…

Firestone Parabolita

In 2022 Firestone Walker Brewing released an interesting take of its classic Parabola Imperial Stout. And this year’s release is even better than last year.

Starting with special selection of Parabola aged for one year in premium bourbon barrels, then blended with a complement of Velvet Merlin to create a silky mouthfeel, Firestone Parabolita is a 9.2% ABV Imperial Stout brewed with Madagascar vanilla beans, cocoa nibs and sea salt to achieve a full Salted Caramel-style expression.

“Parabolita has the richness of Parabola, but with a creamier, softer texture,” says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “The cocoa nibs and vanilla accentuate the beer’s boozy caramel malt character. The resulting beer manages to be massive, mellow and drinkable all at once.”

Black Tuesday 2023

Arguably The Bruery’s biggest annual release began just days ago and if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on this collectable release which is only available online or in California, you are in for a life-changing experience.

Sporting a warm and spicy finish, Black Tuesday 2023 is a rich and complex 19.5% ABV Barrel-aged Stout, with distinct notes of crème brûlée, poached figs, and milk chocolate.

Cape May Mexican Coffee Stout

Conditioned on a select locally-roasted Mexican Chiapas coffee and a smart grain bill comprised of seven different malts, Cape May Mexican Coffee Stout is a 7.5% ABV seasonal release that’s dark, roasty, and spiced with cinnamon, guajillo peppers, and vanilla.

“We’ve been brewing outstanding coffee stouts for years,” says Cape May Brewing Company CEO Ryan Krill, “and our fans have always gone crazy for them. Using locally-roasted coffee, Cape May Mexican Coffee Stout is the latest of these, with a lineage tracing back to our very first days as a brewery.”

AleSmith Speedway Stout: Affogato Edition

Forged in 1995, AleSmith Brewing has been recognized as one of the world’s foremost craft brewing companies.  And their Speedway Stout variations never disappoint. And now the award-winning brewery has released a new variation of their iconic Imperial Stout that’s perfect for celebrating International Stout Day.
