New Beer Alert: Holiday Stouts Edition

The winter holidays are are ON and American craft brewers are addressing the season with exciting new beers you’re gonna want to have around.

The Shortest Day And Darkest Beer (Berthoud, Colorado) – On December 21st, City Star Brewing celebrates the Winter Solstice, the darkest day of the year with the release of its darkest beer of the year. And the small-town brewery, which was awarded a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2013 and a bronze at the GABF in 2015, is doing the occasion right.

A taproom exclusive, City Star Widow Maker is a smooth 10.5% ABV Imperial Stout with a rich complex flavor profile of dark roasted malt, chocolate, and dark fruit.

Holidaze (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker Brewing never brews the obvious and the brewery’s seasonal take on the traditional nitro stout is a perfect example. Crafted with Madagascar vanilla beans, whole-roasted coffee beans and cocoa nibs, all locally sourced, Firestone Mocha Dolce Nitro Stout is a 6% ABV limited release with a rich, chocolaty character and mellow sweetness.
