The coronavirus has led breweries like Good City Brewing to get super-creative about getting beer to its fans. Like converting a former bank drive thru into a beer delivery operation.

As with many lock-downed Wisconsin breweries, Good City Brewing had to find new ways to get its beer safely to fans…The brewery has operated curbside service out of its original East Side Milwaukee location since the temporary closure of its taproom restaurants. And co-founder Dan Katt is thankful that Good City’s fans have responded…
“We’ve been humbled by the customer support that has allowed us to keep our skeleton crew employed during these difficult times” Katt said, “but we have to stay creative in order to get through this.”
That kind of thinking led to Good City Brewing partnering with Mayfair Mall in suburban Milwaukee, to set up a pop-up beer delivery at a former bank drive-thru.
Brilliant!
And it’s not like mall, which has is also suffering under coronavirus lockdown orders couldn’t use the traffic…
“We want to serve our community and customers by providing creative shopping solutions during this uncertain time as we all work to responsibly turn the dial,” says Mayfair General Manager Chris Jaeger. “We’re excited to partner with a prominent local brewery to provide our customers with a unique curbside experience.”
Talk about thinking outside the box…
Co-founder David Dupee says the drive thru is a natural extension of Good City’s vision to transform underutilized spaces….
“From our original brewery and taproom that had previously sat vacant for 5 years to our second taproom that was built from the ground up as part of the Milwaukee Bucks Entertainment District to our purchase of a vacant warehouse on the Northwest Side, we have always been about breathing life into spaces.”
A contactless experience that includes use of the former bank’s drive thru window and drawer, Good City’s new drive beer outlet affords safety and serious craft beer you can ‘bank” on.
“There’s two ways to get beer,” Dupee, told Fox 6 “We have a lane for pre-order pickups and then, right at the window, if people just want to drive up and place an order, they can do that as well.”
Good City Brewing’s bank/beer drive thru will operate 7 days a week from 11 am – 8 pm.
