In February, Tony Magge, the founder and Executive Chairman of Lagunitas Brewing Company will  be returning to the Colorado Convention Center, a location he’s attended many times in the past for the Great American Beer Festival. But this time he’ll be addressing the legal marijuana industry.

Known to many as a both a vocal proponent of the cannabis industry and an enthusiastic consumer himself, Tony joins NCIA’s Seed to Sale Show® to discuss the similarities between the two rapidly expanding industries…Lagunitas, Lagunitas Brewing Founder Tony Magee To Talk Pot

Lagunitas has never been shy about their marijuana associated beer names that celebrate weed as much as they do beer.

Lagunitas has brewed beers with blatant pot references like Kronik, and memorialized after-school pot hangs with Waldos’ Special Ale. Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale was brewed to remember an actual drug arrest that took place at a brewery party on St Pattack’s Day in 2005.

All leading up to last summer’s release of SuperCritical Ale, a limited-edition beer infused with cannabis terpenes, finally married Tony’s passion for beer with his fondness for cannabis.

Which is why we’re not the least bit surprised to learn that Magee has been chosen to as one of the keynote speakers for Seed to Sale Show®, an annual event sponsored by the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), the only national trade association representing the legal marijuana industry.

In his keynote, titled “A Glimpse into the Future: Lessons from 20 Years of Craft Brewing Give Traction to the Cannabis Industry,” Magee will discuss what craft beer and the marijuana industry have in common, share lessons he’s learned over the last 25 years brewing beer in a highly-regulated industry.

“It’s an exciting moment for the cannabis industry right now. It strongly reminds me of when we were first getting started . . . it’s almost as if cannabis is where craft beer was some fifteen, twenty years ago. I’m very much looking forward to reminiscing on those years and to sharing my experiences, both good and bad, with other entrepreneurs.”

The NCIS’ Seed to Sale Show®, will return to the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado on February 7-8, 2018.

And you might want to put that date on your calendar…just in case you ‘space-out.’
