Hamm’s beer has teamed up a legendary adult campground in Elkhorn, Wisconsin and introduced a throwback line of campwear that’s the bomb.

Here’s the deal…

In 1966 Hamm’s was the 8th largest beer brand in America. It was the decade the brewery unveiled its most popular can design to date, a can they the “Crown.”

57 years later, that retro can is making a big comeback and they’ve teamed up with another legend, Camp Wandawega, to celebrate its return.

Camp Wandawega is located in southern Wisconsin and its history is one for the books. In 1925 Wandawega Hotel served as a resort and speakeasy home to illicit alcohol, gambling and easy women. After a Federal raid in 1931, the place is temporarily shuttered by a “Prohibition Padlock.”

After Prohibition the grounds became popular hangout for a cast of characters including criminals on the run, local law enforcement, and Chicagoans prone to debauchery.

By 1951, the place finally went legit and renamed Wandawega Lake Resort by its new owners, the Andrzejewski family from Chicago. With the ladies of the night banished, the modest resort became an idyllic getaway for Chicagoans looking for a convenient, affordable retreat.

Camp Wandawega has seen it all: from bootleggers to bad cops, priests to prostitutes, hippies to hipsters, as well as flappers and fanatics. And now it’s an idyllic campground that attracts adults from around the world.

The camp books up every year and is extremely hard to get into, but now Hamm’s beer is helping anyone anywhere enjoy the Camp Wandawega experience from home and also celebrate the return of the brand’s retro “Crown” cans.

Much like Camp Wandawega, Hamm’s embraces a vintage vibe; and so the two coming together harkens back to Hamm’s heyday of the 1950s and 1960s, creating a period-specific collection of cool throwback pieces with vintage fabrics, patterns and meticulous details like retro swim trunks, vintage beach towels, branded inner tubes (yes!) and more.

And you can resurrect your grandpa’s old school vacation gear HERE.

Hamm’s and Camp Wandawega are bringing back the classics with vintage ‘60s cans and camp gear that celebrate “what was once old being new again.”
