If you’ve ever visited the legendary Guinness Brewery at St. James’s Gate you understand why it’s a beloved Dublin institution…You might have ended your tour up in the Gravity Bar, which sits high atop of Guinness Storehouse and offers a spectacular view of the beautiful city (in addition to some hard to get beers).

And now the Guinness Storehouse has been named the ‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ for 2023 at the World Travel Awards which were announced in Dubia on December 1st beating out the Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu and the Taj Mahal as the best place to hang.

It also was named World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience 2023.

Yessssss!

In 2017 Guinness invested more than $18 million dollars in what has one become one of the world’s most renowned beer destinations.

In fact the Guinness Storehouse was already Ireland’s most visited attraction in 2016 with 1.6 million visitors having ended up at the Gravity Bar. To put things in perspective you have to consider that that’s about 200,000 more visitors than Ireland’s Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular setting where you unfortunately can’t get a beer.

The Guinness Storehouse, still Ireland’s #1 visitor attraction, gives Guinness lovers the chance to experience the history, heart, and soul of Ireland’s most iconic beer.

A visit to the Home of Guinness includes a behind-the-scenes look at the craft of brewing a perfect pint of the Black Stuff, an exhibition and cinema room dedicated to vintage Guinness advertising, and the chance to enjoy a pint in the Gravity Bar while enjoying Dublin’s best view.

Housed at St. James’s Gate in the heart of Dublin’s Liberties neighborhood, the seven floors of the Guinness Storehouse were built through a €42 million redevelopment of a 113-year-old former Guinness fermentation plant. Since 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has continually been enhanced, developing its experience to exceed consumers’ expectations.

The newly revamped Gravity Bar is the latest example of this.

The panoramic bar, located on the seventh floor, has more than doubled in size, and is now structured as a figure of eight, giving stunning views across the Dublin cityscape.

This is a very special moment for us at the Guinness Storehouse. We are so proud to have been voted the World’s Leading Tourist Attraction for the first time in our 23-year-history, and to retain our title as the World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience.” Catherine Toolan of Diageo Irish Brand Homes said.

“”It means the world to our team to be recognized on a global stage and to bring these awards home to Dublin.”
