If you care about beer you’re probably very familiar with Firestone Walker’s 805 Blonde Ale. It was originally conceived as a Central Coast California-only year-round release, an every-day anytime beer that immediately caught fire and spread well beyond its uber-local aspirations.

805 is a phenomenon in the beer biz, a rising craft beer flagship at a time when most flagships are taking water.

And Vicki Golden is her own kind of phenomenon, a pioneer of motocross speed racing in a largely male-dominated sport.

Freestyle motocross (also known as FMX) is a variation on the sport of motocross in which motorcycle riders attempt to impress judges with jumps and stunts.

There are two main types of competitive freestyle events: Freestyle Motocross in which riders perform two routines, each lasting between 90 seconds and 14 minutes, on a course consisting of multiple jumps of varying lengths and angles, and Big Air, where each rider gets two jumps, usually covering more than 75 ft. from a dirt-covered ramp.

Firestone Walker’s  upcoming 805 Beer film, Inverted Perspective, which debuts on March 29th  is a deep dive into Vicki Golden’s powerful rise to the top of the motocross world that explores her decorated career as a five-time X Games gold medalist  – a career that has inspired an entire generation of professional women riders.

“I’ve lived my whole life around motorcycles,” Golden said. “Telling the story of how they’ve shaped my life, with a brand that shares in my passion for two wheels and good times, is unreal.”

“Vicki has spent her entire career as a trailblazer, considered by many to be the most prolific woman on two wheels,” said Dustin Hinz, CMO at Firestone Walker Brewing Company. “The work she’s done for the sport of motocross, women, and future champion’s lives as a testament to her legacy. She’s an incredible talent, athlete, and human being and it was a privilege to tell her story.”

Golden now joins the ranks of 805’s “Authenticos”—athletes, artists and artisans who excel in their respective disciplines and inspire others to chase their passions. And you can watch a short trailer of the upcoming documentary HERE.
