The winter holiday season is officially ON. And when that snow starts to fall you’re gonna need the right beers.
It’s A Beaut (USA) BrewDog and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have joined forces to spread a little holiday cheer with a new National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation-inspired beer. BrewDog It’s A Beaut is a 7.5% ABV Pecan & Toffee Stout with rich roasted cacao and sweet toffee flavors that linger.
“The BrewDog crew grew up enjoying the antics of Clark and the Griswold gang and have since passed on the time-honored tradition of watching the movie together during the holidays with the next generation,” shares BrewDog head brewer Steve McMillen. “We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with our friends at Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products to create this fun take on a classic porter.”
An Old Fashioned Christmas Beer (Baltimore, MD) – Guinness is celebrating the winter holidays with a unique take on the Christmas beer concept, a beer that was inspired by the classic old fashioned cocktail.
Crafted at its Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore, Maryland, Guinness Old Fashioned Ale is a 10.8% ABV uber-limited holiday release, a deep amber Red Ale that was aged to oaky perfection in specially curated Kentucky bourbon barrels with orange and sweet cherry purees added post-barrel.
Don’t Open Until Christmas (Cleveland, OH) – Few holiday releases are as “classic” as Great Lakes Brewing’s award-winning winter offering. Crafted with honey in a tradition that can be traced back to the Middle Ages, Great Lakes Christmas Ale is an award-winning 7.5% ABV Winter Warmer pumped with delicate cinnamon and ginger spicing and rich chocolate-covered cherry tones.
Isolation Nation (Fort Collins, CO) – Both approachable and at the same time complex, Odell Brewing offers one of the most interesting and sessionable holiday ales out there.Trending more towards an English Strong Ale than a spiced Winter Warmer but combining aspects of both, Odell Isolation Ale is a 6.1% ABV holiday seasonal with a sweet-caramel malt backbone balanced by a crisp hop finish.
