Clickbait Alert! States With The Cheapest And Most Expensive Beer In The Nation

, Clickbait Alert! States With The Cheapest And Most Expensive Beer In The Nation

Beer cost surveys are a dime a dozen. And they populate an internet fueled by the need for endless content – no matter how questionable they might be.

But that doesn’t mean they can’t be a fun and diverting waste of time…especially on a slow news day.

Simple Thrifty Living a financial advice site, recently designed a survey that looked at the cost of a case of beer in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Be clear, we’re not talking craft beer here. They surveyed the regional prices on two of America’s most popular mass-market beers, Bud Light and Miller Lite and their comparative pricing was based on 24-count cases of 12oz cans.

The data used in the ‘study’ (maybe too strong a word) was obtained primarily from two major retailers, Walmart and Total Wine, buffered by surveys from 10 nearby stores chosen to offer some urban and rural balance.

So this is basically the cost of the world’s most generic beers, sold by a Big Box retailer and another national drinks chain, with some smaller stores thrown in to soften things.

So yes, clickbait, which makes us as guilty as anyone, but since we’re heading into a long and hopefully mindless holiday weekend…what the hell.
