In spite of the more than 7500 craft breweries currently online in the US, we continue to receive new announcements almost daily.

And here’s just some of what’s happening around the country…

American Craft Beer Visits Two Roads Brewing’s Area Two

In March Two Roads Brewing opened its much anticipated $15 million expansion which American Craft Beer visited over the weekend…And we’ve got to admit it was pretty amazing.

Area Two is a sour, barrel-aging and experimental brewery situated 10-acres across from Two Roads main brewing facility in Stratford Connecticut.  The 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility focuses on the wild and spontaneous.

Master Brewer and co-founder, Phil Markowski, describes Area Two as “a brewery of boundless experimentation,” where Two Roads can continue “to innovate, redefine and stretch the definition of beer.”

Designed by Connecticut-based Neil Hauck Architects, Area Two features a tasting room with a seasonal patio and a rooftop beer garden with an in-season capacity for more than 180 people.

And the beer on tap during our Area Two visit was equally spectacular.

We particularly enjoyed their Table Terroir, a 100% local 3.7% ABV Wild Ale brewed with Connecticut grown malt and hops whichwas fermented with a unique yeast strain that Two Roads captured around their on-campus hop yard.

Eagle Park Brewing’s Ambitious New Outlet

It’s been only three year since Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s Eagle Park Brewing opened, and not only have they been named the second best new brewery in the country by USA Today, they’re already planning for a second  brewery that will also produce ciders and spirits.

The new, 20,500-square foot, $3 million location will house a 20-barrel brewhouse, a cidery and a distillery that can produce up to 3,000 cases of product annually according to On Milwaukee.

With nearly 10 times the cubic footage of the brewery’s initial location, Eagle Park’s new facility, which they hope to have ready by the end of 2019, will also feature“a 300-person taproom and full restaurant, a private event room with its own bar, a 100-seat mezzanine and a to-go beer counter.”
