Boulevard Brewing has announced a partnership with 20th Century Fox and its highly anticipated film Dark Phoenix, the 12th installment of the uber-popular X-Men series, the studio’s first collaboration with a craft brewer, and the Kansas City brewer’s first foray into Hollywood.
And as part of this alliance Space Camper Cosmic IPA Boulevard’s year-round beer has been named the official craft beer for the film which will debut nationwide in June.
Released in January 2019, Space Camper was inspired by Boulevard’s desire to offer drinkers an escape from the heavy-handed bitterness found in too many IPAs today…
Pumped with mango, peach and pineapple aromatics and fresh citrus, stone fruit and watermelon notes Space Camper, a 5.9% ABV India Pale Ale has fast become a best-seller for the brewery. And Boulevard will be releasing Space Camper in “limited -edition packaging featuring a Dark Phoenix icon floating over a prominent ‘X’ with the beer’s orange, grey, white and black branding.”
.The beer will also carry codes to save $3 on the movie from Fandango.
A direct sequel to X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix stars an all-star ensemble cast featuring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner and Jessica Chastain in the grand finale to a franchise that many have compared to Marvel’s other uber-successful Avengers series. So this tie-in between Boulevard Brewing and 20th Century Fox is a big deal.
And 20th Century Fox SVP of Marketing Partnerships said Chris Cerbo seemed pretty excited about the company’s first craft beer partnership…
“20th Century Fox is thrilled to partner with Boulevard Brewing for the release of Dark Phoenix. Space Camper Cosmic IPA’s heroine is the story of Jean Grey’s Dark Phoenix.”
“Boulevard Brewing has a strong connection with their consumer and we’re looking forward to sharing the film with them in such a unique way.”
Boulevard’s Vice President of Marketing Natalie Gershon (who no doubt will be getting free passes to Dark Phoenix) seconded that emotion…
“We are proud to have crafted a partnership with 20th Century Fox. Our team looks forward to this exciting theatrical release, and many more to come.”
Boulevard Brewing is owned by Duvel Moortgat, a Belgian company that also owns Ommegang, the brewery behind all the Game of Thrones beers.
Dark Phoenix opens in theaters June 7.
