We love beer at this time of year. The nights get colder and the buzz is much more intense…And temperatures now cooling, we’ve some BIG buzz-worthy drinking directions that you might want to chase down this weekend.
Dreamland (Denver, CO) – Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales just announced that bottles of DREAMLAND, their coolship to wine barrel to solera vessel, Golden Sour, will be available at their taproom every weekend why they last (and believe us these exotics go fast). DREAMLAND is essentially a wild ale than began in 2015 and has been in constant progression. Every batch that they keg or bottle, is a collection of over two years of blended beer, including the original batch. Black Project now has five stainless steel soleras dedicated solely to the production of DREAMLAND which allows them to keep this beer on tap consistently and the ability to create other beers from its base.
A Storytelling Stout (Atlanta, GA) – Reformation Brewery has released what they describe as “a perfect new beer for celebrating the holidays,” at least that’s their story. Brewed with a specially curated menu of spices assembled to approximate gingerbread flavors Scout The Storyteller is a 7.4% ABV Foreign Export Stout that’s primed with fresh ginger, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
Holiday Blues (Glendale, WI) – Sprecher Brewing just released the latest addition to its growing Belgian-style portfolio and you may want to chase it down. Borne of a Belgian yeast culture that was then aged with whole blueberries for almost two years, Sprecher Touch of Blue is an 8.4% ABV Lambic Ale that’s unrelentingly tart and fruity…and perfect for cellaring as well.
Just North of Awesome (Ft Bragg, CA) – North Coast Brewing’s much anticipated 2017 release of their beloved barrel-aged stout has shipped. Ready just in time for your holiday enjoyment, North Coast Barrel-Aged Old Rasputin is a well-balanced 11.9% ABV Russian Imperial Stout that’s deep, dark and uber-intense.
Hop Disciples 2018 (Denver, CO) – Great Divide Brewing is jumping the gun and releasing the 2018 edition of their Rotating Hop Project Series (which takes a bright, clean IPA and brings a different hop variety to the forefront with every release) in December 2017. Great Divide’s latest addition to the series, Hop Disciples 2018 is a 6.2% ABV India Pale Ale brewed with a single malt bill and toned this time around with the citrus and herbal notes of Ekuanot hops.
