Milking It (Paso Robles, CA) – This weekend Creature Comforts and Firestone Walker will be debuting a special collaboration at the 2018 Firestone Walker Invitational. Crafted with five malts—Two-Row, Munich, Chocolate, Franco-Belges Kiln Coffee and Crystal 45—along with oats, lactose (milk) sugar and a dash of sea salt, then aged for nearly a year in premium rye whiskey barrels Firestone Walker / Creature Comforts Mother’s Milk is an 11.6 % ABV Imperial Porter that’s available for limited time at all Firestone Walker locations starting on June 2nd.
Maui Brews To Help Flood Victims (Kihei, HI) – Maui Brewing has a new draft-only, Hawaii-only limited release that’s profits will go to help the island’s Hanalei and North Shore flood victims. Brewed entirely with hops and grains donated by Hawaii’s craft beer community, Kokua Golden Ale is a sessionable 5.5% ABV refresher that’s bright golden in appearance, has a subtle citrus aroma, and welcome flavors of stone fruit and peach.
High Octane (Ashville, NC) – Hi-Wire Brewing has turned the concept of the sessionable golden ale on its head with a recent fruit-forward limited release. Brewed with a flagrant abundance of Citra hops Hi-Wire Tropical Fruit Golden Ale is an enormous 11.3% ABV Strong Ale toned by guava, papaya, and mango during its secondary fermentation. Yesssssssssssssss!
Eye Opening (United Kingdom) – Siren Craft Brew has an eye-opening new Project Barista Series release that’s available now in the UK. Crafted with Climpson & Sons Brazilian coffee, and dry and light (as opposed to sweet), Siren Craft Brew’s Cold Brew is a 5.5% ABV cold-press coffee Schwarzbier with huge caramel and fudge notes that linger.
Just Peachy (Portland, OR) – Cascade Brewing has returned their latest version of a legend this week but with only 400 cases and 100 kegs produced, you need to chase this one down fast. A blend of wheat ales brewed with Cherrywood smoked malt and aged with Northwest-grown peaches in oak barrels for up to 14 months, Cascade Pêche Fumé 2017 is a 6.8% ABV exercise in excellence that’s grown an almost cult-like following over the years.
