This weekend’s collection of new beer offerings include an award-winning Oktoberfest lager and an uber-aggressive New England-Style IPA that we loved.

Heavy Seas Shakes Things Up (Baltimore, MD) – On August 16th Heavy Seas Beer will debut the sixth release of the year from its 15 barrel experimental brewhouse and it’s gonna shake things up. Brewed with imported English Maris Otter, Chocolate, Black, and Crystal malts along with almost 10 lbs. of lactose per barrel, Heavy Seas  Scoops Chocolate Vanilla Twist Milkshake IPA is a 5.5% ABV Milkshake-Style India Pale Ale tempered with cocoa nibs and vanilla that round out its creamy flavors. The Scoops label artwork was designed by local Baltimore artist, Owen Murphy, of One Drop Design Studio.

Electric! (Terre Haute, IN) – Terre Haute Brewing Company, Indiana’s oldest (and America’s second-oldest) brewery currently in operation has a fresh new addition to its long-running portfolio. Brewed with an “electrifying” mix of Citra, Mosaic, and Calypso hops, Terre Haute amps things to 11 with Powerline NEIPA, an 8% ABV New England-Style IPA that’s sure to send sparks flying with every sip.

, Beer Run: New Golden Ales, Märzen Lagers And Hazy IPA’sOktoberfest Timed (Durango, CO) – Ska Brewing is capping off a banner year with an award-winning classic that we can’t wait to chase down.  Awarded a gold at the European Beer Star in the Vienna-Style Lager Category, a silver at the Stockholm Beer & Whiskey Festival, and a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival, Ska Oktoberfest is a 6.1% ABV world-class German-style Lager with nutty, toasty flavors and a surprisingly crisp and clean finish.

A Gold Rush (Hood River, OR) – pFriem Family Brewers has a new summer release that straddle the line between Belgian tradition and American innovation. Aged to perfection in Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc barrels before adding fresh nectarines for another six additional months of aging, pFriem Nectarine Golden Ale is a 6.4% ABV Belgian Strong Ale with a graceful tannic structure.
