This weekend’s new beer offerings are impressive in their variety and surprisingly exotic for this time of year…So welcome to our latest June Beer Run …and there’s plenty of things to like here.
Chai Times For Mr. Sandman (Denver, CO) – River North Brewing is releasing a new variation on Mr. Sandman, their popular imperial stout, this weekend. Brewed with a custom spice blend of ginger, cardamom, clove, black pepper, cinnamon and vanilla, all hand-selected by River North’s brewers – Mr. Sandman: Chai Spice is a 12.1% ABV block-out-the-sun-style stout that intertwines aromatic herbal notes with the robust, roasty backbone for a hefty ‘chai meets beer’ experience.
Drink The Truth (Milton, DE) – Last year Dogfish Head released an IPA as part of their Art Series that proved to be so popular with their fans that they’re not only returning it…They are returning it as a year-round offering in 4-Packs of16oz cans. Immensely but approachably hoppy, Liquid Truth Serum IPA is an unfiltered golden-orange is a 7% ABV India Pale Ale that’s back for the long run (and that’s just the truth).
Location, Location, Location (Richmond, VA) – Stone Brewing has just introduced a new year-round East Coast IPA that’s named after a 3m x 3m square in Stone’s Richmond, VA brewery with three obscure words painted on it. Stone///Fear.Movie.Lions (yep, those are the names on that square) is an 8.5% ABV unfiltered Double IPA with massive tropical & citrus notes and a residual maltiness that rounds things out nicely.
Lemongrassed (St Louis, MO) – The largest locally owned brewery in St. Louis, Schlafly Beer had a new Cellar Selection Series release that sound’s very interesting. Described by the brewery as a versatile brew with assertive hops and a serious depth of flavor, Schlafly Hibiscus & Lemongrass Blonde Ale is a 4.7% ABV warm weather refresher with bight lemongrass aromatics and hibiscus-fueled tart lemony flavors.
Getting Braven (Brooklyn, NY) – Braven Brewing recently launched their first DIPA ever and it’s the newest addition to the brewery’s Limited Edition 16oz Can Series. Pumped to the max with juicy citrus aromatics and racks upon racks of resinous pine and citrus hop flavors Braven Skrrt! Skrrt! DIPA is a 8.6% ABV Double IPA that was crafted with a blend of flaked oats, wheat malt, and 2-row barley for a doubly smooth finish.
