Scottish Brewer Crafts The World’s Strongest Beer (UK) – Billed as the strongest beer in the world, Brewmeister Beer, an export brand brewed by the Keith Brewery LTD has announced that they are now home to the world’s strongest beer, the appropriately named Snake Venom.
Not for the weak hearted, Brewmeister Snake Venom reportedly clocks in at a devastating 67% ABV, a smoked peat malt, champagne and ale yeast creation that was distilled to its almost noncarbonated essence.
Described as a Barleywine (and at 67% we gotta think it drinks more like a scotch), this new high velocity ‘ale’ supplants BrewDog’s The End of History with its 55% ABV, for that vaunted title of ‘World’s Strongest Beer.’ But we expect that BrewDog’s James Watt and Martin Dickie see Snake Venom’s new crown as temporary – so let the Scottish beer wars begin.

Sly Fox goes topless
Topless Beer Cans Approved In Illinois (Springfield IL) – Gov. Bruce Rauner has reportedly signed off on a new law, that was championed by Lombard, Illinois’ Noon Whistle Brewing, enabling the state’s brewers to sell their craft beers in what many in the industry call “topless cans.”
The Conventional pull-tab can (that we all know so well) leaves a small opening in the lid which is not so great for enjoying a beer’s aroma, especially when you’re drinking that beer directly from the can. But the topless cans approved by the law allow users to peel back the entire lid so craft beer drinkers can savor its sudsy aroma through the 360-degree opening.
Topless cans were originally developed by Crown Beverage Packaging in partnership with SABMiller and they made their debut at the FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa in 2010. In 2013 Pennsylvania-based Sly Fox Brewing became the first craft brewer to adopt the cans.

White Sow Oatmeal Chocolate Milk Stout Nitro is a 5.2% ABV sweet stout with a frothy tan head and velvety mouth feel. Outstanding!
