The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were drinking your way through the weekend.
BrewDog Story Goes Hollywood
BrewDog Co-Founder and CEO recently took to social media to announce that “beer and film fans” (that’s a thing) may soon be able to watch the brewery’s origin story play out on the big screen.
Although BrewDog began as a Scottish garage brewery in 2007, what Watt started along with co-founder, Martin Dickie, has grown into an international drinks maker that now employs over 2,000 team members and has over 100 bars all over the planet. It’s quite a success story.
Writing on LinkedIn, Watt said the film had a working title of Underdogs: The Rise of BrewDog.

“It has been so exciting to work with such talented people on the script of this amazing new movie. Since Martin & I started BrewDog, both just aged 24, the journey has been remarkable – high highs, low lows, failures, successes and a healthy dose of controversy along the way.”

The New England Brew Summit Returns in 2024
The Maine Brewers’ Guild has announced the return of the New England Brew Summit on March 7 in Portland Maine. First launched in 2015, it remains the premier regional craft beer industry B2B conference in New England with something for everyone in the craft beer industry.
In 2022, the Summit welcomed more than 625 attendees, brewery owners and staff from over 100 unique breweries. More than a dozen workshops showcasing brewing topics, business topics, and hospitality/ tasting room operation are planned for this year’s gathering.
More than just a trade-show with vendor booths, the New England Brew Summit is all about bringing people in the craft beer industry together to share ideas and knowledge that will move the industry forward.
