Bud Light at risk of losing No. 1 status in US
These are polarizing times and Bud Light beer sales appear to be in a freefall since April 1, when its partnership with Dylan Mulvaney, a transgender influencer ignited a controversy for Anheuser-Busch that refuses to go away.
And now the NY Post is reporting Bud Light sales suffered their worst week ever, falling 25.7% for the week ending May 20 according to Bump Williams Consulting and NielsonIQ data.
The drop follows a 24.6% decline from the previous week and the sixth straight week Bud Light sales have been impacted by its alliance with the Trans activist.
At the same time the gap in sales between Bud Light and nearest rival Modelo Especial narrowed according to NielsonIQ data. The Mexican import saw its sales surge 9.2% for the week ending May 20.
“While Bud Light loses week after week, Modelo Especial gains week after week and now Modelo outsells Bud Light on a national basis across all trade channels combined,” Bump Williams, who runs the consulting firm told The Post. “If this continues Modelo will surpass Bud Light for the year.”

Ed Sheeran, a four time Grammy winner and one of the most popular singer/songwriter in the world, as well as a noted beer-lover, made a surprise visit to SweetWater Brewing in Atlanta over the Memorial Day Weekend where he serenaded patrons in the beer garden and bought everyone a beer.
“Sheeran was already in town for his, Subtract Tour’ at Mercedes Benz Stadium” according to Yahoo! Life but wanted to celebrate his visit to the ATL with a surprise concert to kick off the holiday weekend.”
