Did you even know that there were records for the number of beer filled steins successfully carried by one individual?

We didn’t either. And a German waiter just broke his own record…again.

It’s difficult to imagine, let alone explain, why anyone would commit to breaking the world’s record for carrying the most beer-filled steins at one time.

Surely people have better things to do…but maybe not.

Our friends at the Drinks Business are reporting that the world record for beer hoisting has been smashed again, by a master who will not be deterred.

In 2014 Oliver Strümpfel set his first world record for carrying 22 beer-filled steins in Milan.

We have to ask, if this is what you would do with your time in Milan?

And this weekend he broke his own his own record at an event (there are events for this?), in Abensberg, Germany.

The German waiter, who’s clearly established a massive reputation for this kind of thing, successfully transported 29 one-liter steins of beer (almost 33 US ounces), weighing more than 153 lbs. And he hoisted this beer load over 40 meters without spilling a drop.

Impressive we guess…if that’s what you want to do with your time.

He is German (so there’s that), but still.

Another German, Anita Schwarz, set the female record for successfully hoisting 19 glasses of beer in 2008…but that’s whole different story.
