Sierra Nevada Sponsors Oktoberfest Wedding Trip (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada Brewing is kicking off of its annual Oktoberfest celebration with an expense-paid “royal wedding” at the festival for one lucky beer-loving couple. The contest commemorates the very first Oktoberfest, which was held in Munich in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen.
Sierra Nevada is searching for an engaged couple whose love for craft beer matches their love for each other. A special panel of judges will select the winning couple to tie the knot on September 27, 2019 at Sierra Nevada’s brewery in Chico, California.
To Enter Sierra Nevada’s Royal Wedding Contest couples must upload a short video (one minute or less) to sierranevada.com making the case for why they’d be the perfect candidates to wed at Sierra Nevada’s 2019 Oktoberfest Royal Wedding. Sierra Nevada fans will narrow the candidates down to five finalists via social media voting, and a panel of expert judges will select the winning couple. Contest submissions can be made between July 11-August 8.

Sun King Brewing Wins Big At US Open Beer Championship (Oxford, OH) – Sun King Brewing was named Grand Champion at the U.S. Open Beer Championship taking home 20 medals at the annual event.
The Indianapolis-based brewery won three gold and three silver medals in the 2019 competition that drew over 7,000 entries in over 130 different styles of beer.
Sun King’s gold medal winners were Pechanga (international-style pilsner lager), Cherry Busey (Belgian-style fruit beer) and Midnight Choir (wild beer). Sun King’s silver medal winners were Shadow Proof Imperial Stout, Barrel Aged Proof and Brandy Barrel Aged Touched by an Angel.
