The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s some more of what’s been happening in the beer world while you were celebrating 4/20 Day and/or hunting Easter eggs.

New Belgium Opens Its First Airport Location (Fort Collins, CO) – American Craft Beer ended its recent trip to Denver for the 2019 Craft Brewers Conference at the Great Divide Brewhouse and Kitchen at Denver International Airport. The place was packed, the beer brilliant, and the ambience better than expected for an airport setting. Opened in May of 2018 Great Divide has owned the craft beer at the Denver airport, for much of the year, but now another major Colorado craft brewer has opened its own hub at DIA.

New Belgium Brewing is that “new kid in town” and their new bar and restaurant located in Concourse B at Denver International Airport will certainly give travelers another serious beer option. New Belgium’s just opened 125-seat bar and kitchen is vibey and smartly designed. But just as with Great Divide’s beer hub on Concourse C, the beer is the ticket.

New Belgium pours from its 20-handle tap system feature a rotating roster of flagships, seasonals and limited releases…as well as New Belgium’s always-impressive wood cellar releases. The Fort Collins-based brewery’s new airport hub also offers a full line of uber-cool New Belgium swag so you can shop till you drop before boarding that flight home.

Words To Drink By (Colorado) – “We’re excited to give travelers the chance to experience the independent Colorado beer scene inside the airport…New Belgium is synonymous with Colorado and we’ve made it a point to create a fun atmosphere that embodies a sense of place.” Leah Pilcer, New Belgium’s Director of Retail Development & Operation

Is It Last Call For Ommegang’s Game of Thrones Beers? (Cooperstown, NY) – After 8 seasons an almost ten years HBO’ hugely popular Game of Thrones series is finally coming to an end. But whether that also spells the end of Brewery Ommegang’s now 14 Game of Thrones beers, and its partnership with HBO, is unclear according to Fortune.

Ommegang President Doug Campbell isn’t so sure that the brewery’s days of working with HBO and the world of Game of Thrones is entirely finished…especially with at least one GOT spinoff show in the works.
