beer, Beer Alert – New Barleywines, Imperial Stouts And Holiday Collaborations!Winter beers and robust dark ales continue dominate our latest collection of beers for 2017…And we’ve five cold weather craft beer directions that you might want to chase down as we look toward the New Year’s celebrations.

Filthy Business (New York, NY) – In a series of firsts, Mikkeller NYC has teamed up with Buffalo’s Thin Man Brewery on a first-ever collaboration. Brewed at Thin Man, but available in cans this Saturday, December 30th at Mikkeller’s still-in-construction Citi Field brewery location, Filthy Flow IPA is a celebration of Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic and Galaxy hops, with a special label designed by Mikkeller art director Keith Shore!

Mark Of The Devil – (Saint Louis. MO) – Schlafly Beer doesn’t release an Ibex Rare Series beer till it’s good and ready and they just debuted their latest on December 22nd.  Fueled with an embarrassment of rye, wheat, and dark malts and hardened by 18 months of aging in wine barrels with sweet red cherries and black currants, Schlafly The Devil’s Farmhouse is an exquisite Farmhouse Sour Ale that’s a tidal wave of Brettanomyces funk, tart, and fruity flavors, all tempered by oak.

Getting Cordial (Atlanta, GA) – Monday Night Brewing’s Garage just crafted a beer that’s takes its inspiration from the famed chocolate orange candies of Paris. Beginning as an English-style Barleywine, Monday Night Entente Cordial is aged to 13% ABV perfection in seasoned Cognac barrels along with cocoa nibs, orange zest and vanilla beans.beer, Beer Alert – New Barleywines, Imperial Stouts And Holiday Collaborations!

2017 Fyodor’s (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing recently released a whole series of barrel-aged beauties, and one of favorites takes their classic Imperial Stout in an even higher-octane direction. Enhanced with rich dark charred oak, vanilla and caramel notes Stone 2017 Fyodor is the brewery’s 2016 Imperial Russian Stout aged to the 13.5% ABV edge of reason.

Sucking Their Way To Success (Petaluma, CA) – Lagunitas has returned a popular limited release that was born when the brewery made a scheduling error and as a result were unable to produce their annual Christmas Ale Brown Shugga. Brewed as a holiday substitute and named to commemorate that classic moment of corporate miscalculation, Lagunitas Sucks is 8% ABV Double-ish Rye IPA that’s now its own thing.
