With 2016 now in the rear view mirror, American breweries are positioning themselves in an increasingly competitive environment, with new additions to their portfolio…And here is some, of what some American craft breweries will be brewing in 2017…

Starr Hill Brewing

Charlottesville, Virginia-based Starr Hill is heading into 2017 with a “set list” of beers featuring nine new brands across three rotating series. 2017 will also see the return of some beloved favorites, along with a continuation of limited release variety packs.

This year’s All Access Series, which showcases the brewery’s most unique limited releases will include…, American Craft Brewery Lineup – New Beers For 2017

  • Double Bass Double Chocolate Stout – Brewed with mounds cocoa and bittersweet chocolate this huge Imperial sports a deep dark fruit finish. (January)
  • Hop Buzz Coffee IPA – Dry-hopped with whole coffee beans and pumped with roast coffee flavor this eye-opening India Pale Ale snaps with a citrus hops finish. (April)
  • Resinate Imperial Red IPA – Unapologetically malt-forward and ruby-red in hue, this India Pale Ale is brewed to resonate. (July)
  • Little Red RooStarr Coffee Cream Stout – A full-bodied milk stout with chocolate, caramel and coffee notes this creamy rich offering is brewed with beans roasted by Red Rooster in Floyd, VA. (October)

Starr Hill’s Heavy Rotation Series is a changing playlist of new beer and music available in 6-packs and on draft every three months and 2017’s lineup looks promising…

  • Warehouse Pils – a draft-only release from 2016, this bright golden German Pilsner dry-hopped with European hops. (March)
  • Sublime Citrus Wit – This citrusy Belgian-style Witbier which took a gold medal at the 2016 Virginia Brewers Cup is brewed with real lemon and lime zest. (June)
  • Festie Oktoberfest Lager – A smooth and malty homage to the German Märzen tradition, this blast from the past returns for the first time in over four years. (September)
  • Two-Tone Vanilla Porter – Melding real vanilla beans with subtle chocolate, malt and caramel notes makes for a welcome addition to the holidays. (December)

2017’s “draft-only” Debut Series will continue to showcase the brewing team’s passion for crafting BIG full-bodied, high-gravity beers.

  • Scotch Ale is a malt-forward celebration characterized by an almost total absence of hop bitterness. (January)
  • Denali Double IPA sports the fruity aroma of rich Denali hops. (April)
  • Farmhouse IPA blends American hops with spicy French yeast. (July)
  • Russian Imperial Stout (October) for the holidays with special ingredients to be announced.

 

Cigar City Brewing

Tampa-based Cigar City will be offering a portfolio of 5 year-round releases in 2017 as well as a special 7 limited releases and there seasonal Nitro Series.

Core Offerings for 2017 include, Jai Alai IPA, Maduro Brown Ale, Invasion Pale Ale, Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale and Tampa-style Lager.
