American Craft Brewery LineUp – New Beers For 2017

With 2016 now in its final lap, American breweries are looking to the coming year and positioning themselves in an increasingly competitive environment with new additions to their portfolio…And here is some of what some American craft breweries will be brewing in 2017…

New Belgium will be shaking things up in a big way next year, what with four new year-round additions to their portfolio and some tweaks to their existing brands.

The brewery will be introducing a whole new line of hop-forward beers the Voodoo Ranger trademark with Voodoo Ranger 8 Hop Ale debuting first.

And look for New Belgium’s popular Ranger IPA and Rampant Imperial IPA to evolve into Voodoo Ranger IPA and Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA next year as well.

Blue Paddle Pilsener will be retired and New Belgium Bohemian Pilsener will take its place. And say goodbye (at least for now) to Snapshot Wheat, Slow Ride Session IPA and Shift Pale Lager.

Additional December 2016 and January 2017 releases include Dayblazer Easygoing Ale a 4.8% Golden Ale, Citradelic Exotic Lime Ale (a spiced and lime infused Golden Ale) and Tartastic Lemon Ginger Sour Ale (a sweet, spiced tank sour).

Cleveland, Ohio-based heritage brewer Great Lakes is also looking at some changes in 2017 and will be introducing four new seasonals to their portfolio in the first quarter including Grandes Lagos Lager in March and Hop Madness Double IPA which is scheduled to be released in April.

Turntable Pils will join Dortmunder Gold, Eliot Ness Amber, Burning River Pale Ale, Commodore Perry IPA and Edmund Fitzgerald Porter as the newest addition to their year-round offerings.

In a clear effort to make room for new beers from their Botanicals & Barrels Series, Avery Brewing is retiring some big beers from their Demons of Ales collection including classics like Salvation and Dugana as well as The Kaiser and The Czar from their popular (but maybe not popular enough) Dictator Series.

In addition to mainstays White Rascal, Ellie’s Brown Ale, Out of Bounds Stout and The Reverend, Avery’s restructured core beer lineup for 2017 will now include Liliko’i Kepolo, a passionfruit White Ale, and a German-style Sour Ale, El Gose.

The Boulder, Colorado-based brewery will also commit to their Hop Freaks Unite collection, a series which now includes Joe’s Pils, Avery IPA, Raja, The Maharaja and Hog Heaven.
