Hey it’s our second June weekend…and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because there’s lots going on. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered. Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking.
Stone’s Sour Situation (Escondido, CA) – One of the most interesting craft beer gatherings this weekend is taking place this Sunday (June 11th) at the Stone Brewing’s World Bistro & Gardens in Escondido – and the fact that it’s a SOLD OUT celebration of Wild Ales, in the home of big West-coast IPAs, speaks to the popularity. Stone Sour Fest 2017 promises to feature more than 100 of “the best sour beers the world has to offer” and we expect that they will.
On The Big Screen – An ancient princess is awakened from her tomb bringing terrors that defy human comprehension in The Mummy, this weekend’s big movie opening and it appears we’ll need Tom Cruise to save us. (Let’s just hope he’ll be more convincing than he was in the last Jack Reacher flick).
The Good One (Santa Rosa, CA) – The 26th annual Beerfest – The Good One returns this Saturday (June 10th) to the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts and it’s going to be an unapologetic blast! This year’s afternoon “beerganza” will feature more than 120 rare and classic beers from the region’s most exciting brewers so you don’t want to miss that… right?
TV Time & Streaming – Netflix just dropped the Season 5 of their uber-addictive American political drama House of Cards – so let the binging begin. President Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his wife now Vice President Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) continue to hang on to power in spite of a dogged investigative reporter determined to take them down. Dirty deeds abound and nobody’s hands remain clean.
THE ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK
This weekend we’ll be hitting up a new Heavy Rotation Series release from Charlottesville, Virginia-based Starr Hill, that’s perfect at this time of year. Citrus meets wheat and spice in Starr Hill Sublime Citrus Wit, a 4.7% Belgian Wheat Ale brewed with REAL lime and lemon zest not those phony fruit additives.
