weekend, AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S ‘SAY GOODBYE TO 2017’ WEEKEND PICKS

2017 wraps up this weekend…and you’re ready to celebrate. Well good, because we’ve got some ideas. From the best places to spend your New Year’s, to the weekend’s hottest movies and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve a special New Year’s beer pick for you too, because it has been a hell of a year and you’ll need something serious.

Where To Celebrate New Year’s

Obviously Times Square is the most iconic American destination to celebrate this weekend, but there are thousands of cool places all around the world where people will be gathering to see in 2018 in.

Places like…

Reykjadalur – Iceland is renowned for their geothermal springs and taking a dip in any of these pools would be a great place to see in the New Year. But Reykjadalur is a very special destination. It’s close to Reykjavík (the city you’d be flying into) and it is one of the world’s only spring warmed rivers. That’s right, you can welcome in 2018 while floating downstream through an enormous Icelandic gorge with the Northern Lights overhead…

New Year’s in Edinburgh Scotland is a four day celebration, including a torchlight parade through the old city, concerts everywhere, and a massive open-air party on Princes Street.

Maui, Hawaii – New Year’s Eve in Maui offers something for everyone. But the real celebration happens the next morning for those who make the trek to the summit of Haleakala to celebrate 2018 with one of the most remarkable sunrises in the world!

On The Big Screen – When we think New Year’s movies we think blockbusters and if you’ve not yet seen the latest Star Wars installment, now is the time. Writer/director Rian Johnson’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi is a sprawling action-packed extravaganza that picks up at the end of “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” and takes the franchise into a darker dimension.

TV Time – It’s all about watching the ball drop this weekend – so pick your poison, because all the networks can be stupid fun. Once again Ryan Seacrest is helming Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC, and Mariah Carey is returning this year to redeem herself after last year’s lip-synching fiasco, so there’s that. And then there’s always MTV.

We’ll be greeting the New Year with something special from Firestone Walker that marks the brewery’s 21 years in the biz. Firestone Walker XXI Anniversary Ale is a brilliant combination of past Firestone Walker barrel-aged beers that have been blended together into something entirely new by artisans from the local Paso Robles winemaking community.
