2018 is ON…and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got you covered. From the nation’s coolest beer events to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking.

Schlafly’s Cabin Fever This Weekend (Maplewood, MO) – Counter winter’s wrath this Saturday, January the 13th with Schlafly Beer at their Bottleworks facility out in Maplewood. Schlafly’s Cabin Fever 2018 commemorates the brewery’s 16 years in action and they’ll be celebrating things with over 40+ cold-weather seasonals  and winter warmers all guaranteed to melt those pesky winter blues away.

On The Big Screen – There’s a new Stephen Spielberg historical/political drama opening nationwide this weekend about the first female publisher of a major American newspaper, The Washington Post and her decision to challenge the top echelons of power by exposing the government’s duplicity in Vietnam. Meryl Streep stars as Katharine Graham and Tom Hanks as Ben Bradley in The Post.

TV Time & Streaming – Hey we get that recommending a historical biography about the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II on a craft beer site might cause you to question our cred, but this award-winning Netflix series is surprisingly entertaining and it’s cinematically spectacular. Back for a second season, The Crown is ambitious television journey that’s planned to unfold over six seasons and 60 episodes.

Brotherly Love Beerfest (Philadelphia, PA) – The 4th annual Big Philly Beerfest returns to Philadelphia this weekend and things are gonna get wild in the City of Brotherly Love. This two-evening event (Jan 12th-13th) is described as the city’s biggest craft beer festival and will feature hundreds of brilliant beer offerings from more than 125 of the region’s best breweries. Plus all the proceeds will go to support the Animal Rescue Partners, a great dog-friendly non-profit and that’s nothing to bark about.

With things warming up a bit this weekend we’ll be hitting up something new and unexpected from Samuel Adams that’s an ale and lager hybrid. Having originated in Boston Beer’s experimental small-batch brewery, Sam ’76 is a 4.7% ABV blend of two active fermentations – a base lager and a base ale – each with their own respective yeast strains. Interesting!
