Opening Gala Kicks Off Northern California’s Premier Beer Week (San Francisco, CA) – SF Beer Week is one of the best beer week celebrations in the nation. And they’re kicking things off this Friday, February 9th with an Opening Gala down by the bay at Pier 35. Sponsored by the San Francisco Brewers Guild this exciting lead-in to nine days of SERIOUS BEER will showcase 120 of the region’s most brilliant brewers and is not to be missed. Expect IPAs galore, both cloudy and clear, enormous barrel-aged exotics, and endless beer styles that range from the traditional to the astonishing.
TV Time & Streaming – With Netflix generating so much binge-worthy watching of late we forget to tap into Amazon Prime on occasion, and they’ve a new Sci-fi anthology series based on based on the speculative fiction of Philip K. Dick that’s fun. Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams, or simply Electric Dreams is an entertaining collection of futuristic tales, some of them whimsical, others horrifying. that you need to check in on.
On The Big Screen – This weekend’s new movies are questionable at best with the majority of the pre-Valentine’s Day hype going to a Sadomasochistic romance flick. Fifty Shades Freed brings the titillating S&M trilogy to a clumsy conclusion, and we’re thankful for that.
Drink Strong In Arizona This Weekend (Phoenix, AZ) – The 18th annual Arizona Strong Beer Festival returns to Steele Indian School Park this Saturday February the 10th so get ready for an afternoon of serious drinking. Presented annually by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild, this year’s beerganza will feature more than 400 brewed offerings and with the emphasis this year on high-octane brews you can expect that things will get wild!
