THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKS

Hey it’s the Weekend…and you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking!

, THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKSFresh Fest In The Pacific Northwest (Vancouver, WA) – The Vancouver Brewfest is debuting a new Southwest Washington fresh hop festival this weekend that sounds like a wonderful way to enjoy the harvest season. The Vancouver Brewfest – Fresh Hop Edition is a two-day celebration (October 7th – 8th) of fresh hops and fresh beer, featuring more than 30 of Southwest Washington breweries most accomplished and exciting craft breweries. For more information on what promises to be an awesome autumn throwdown, check out: Vancouver Brewfest

On The Big Screen – The film version of one of last year’s biggest bestselling literary thrillers debuts this weekend. The Girl on the Train stars Emily Blunt as a damaged and alcoholic divorcee who becomes entangled in a missing person investigation, that just might (or might not) lead to murder. The novel’s location has been, for whatever reason, changed from London to New York, but as fans of the book, we’re still interested.

Knox Back Some Serious Beer This Weekend (Knoxville, TN) – the 20th annual Knoxville Brewers Jam returns to the South Performance lawn at the city’s World’s Fair Park this Saturday, October 8th, and it really shouldn’t be missed. What began as a gathering of a few committed brewers “back in the day” has grown to become the Southeast’s largest and longest-running beer festival and this year’s festival will offer exotics from over 75 of the region’s best breweries and you can get all the details HERE.

TV Time – When a new television show gets promoted as much as HBO’s newest sci-fi western series has, it’s easy to become skeptical. But Westworld, which debuted last week, more than lives up to the hype. Inspired by the 1973 film version of best-selling book by the great Michael Crichton, Westworld tells the tale of a futuristic western theme park where paying guests can square off against gunslingers, in a world of pretend, that is populated by life-like androids. As you can imagine, all does not go as expected, and mayhem ensues.

OUR WEEKEND BEER PICK

We’re hitting up a recently re-envisioned IPA from Stone Brewing this weekend, that spawned generations of hop-addled fans, and its original recipe has been , THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKSslightly altered to keep things interesting. The new enhanced Stone IPA isn’t drastically changed, but the brewery has added a new dry-hop blend to the mix that just makes this 6.9% classic so much brighter.
