The More, The Murry-er (Cooperstown, NY) – Brewery Ommegang will be hosting Belgium Comes to Cooperstown 2016 tonight and tomorrow night (Aug 5th-6th)on the grounds of their beautiful farmstead brewery. This annual event is a celebration of Belgian Beer Culture and 100 breweries from all over the world will be in attendance showcasing the best in Belgian beers. And this year they have added a Bill Murry theme to the madness – and with 3000 beer-crazed fans expected to attend this sold out event -things could get wild. On The Big Screen – DC Comics is still struggling to build a Marvel-like franchise in the films world. Their last effort Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opened to mediocre reviews and poor box-office and they’re looking to this weekend to turn things around. Based on the popular antihero team of the same name, Suicide Squad is the third installment in DC Comic’s extended universe. The film stars an ensemble cast that includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, and Viola Davis, and tells the story of a group of imprisoned supervillains who are recruited to execute dangerous black ops missions in exchange for clemency.
Drink Sessionably In The Mile High City (Denver, CO) – Sesh Fest is a celebration of “session beers”- a festival dedicated to lower alcohol beers – and it’s returning for its third year this Saturday, August 3rd, this time at Denver’s Highland Masonic Events Center. This afternoon event (2pm -6pm) will feature beers (all of which will be lower than 5% ABV) from 35 Colorado breweries as well as food, music, lawn games and art. Music / Music / Music (San Francisco, CA) – Hot on the heels of last week’s Lollapalooza, there’s no bigger, nor better, musical event happening anywhere this weekend than the Outside Lands Festival. This year’s festival is three days (August 5th-7th) of spectacular music and features a mind-blowing array of artists as varied as the Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Ryan Adams, Duran Duran and Lana Del Rey. With summer now upon us and temperatures soaring, we’re dialing things back at the ACB compound and Victory has a “warm weather” seasonal that we’ve been hitting a lot lately. Victory Summer Love Ale is a 5.2% ABV American Blonde brewed with whole flower Tettnang, Simcoe and Citra hops and fresh clean German malts. And now it’s available in cans as well as in bottles and on draft.
