Want Skiing, Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines? (Breckenridge, CO) – Then we’ve where you need to be this weekend and its taking place this year at a brand new location, The Beaver Run Resort and Conference Center in Breckenridge. The 17th annual Big Beers, Belgians and Barleywines Festival is three days (Jan 5th-7th) of serious drinking in a world-class ski resort. This year’s event will feature over 400 enormous beers from all around the world and there here will also be all kinds of industry dinners and seminars with big industry names on hand to ensure that keep you keep your buzz on. On The Big Screen – With the holidays now behind us, and all the season’s prestige offerings and winter blockbusters having already opened (and some already closed) at your local Cineplex…Hollywood starts releasing their lesser projects like this weekend’s conclusion to the popular vampires vs werewolves Underworld opus. Kate Beckinsale reprises her role as the vampire Selene in Underworld: Blood Wars who fights to end an endless war (at least until now) between the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that once betrayed her. Expect major CGI, lots of blood and leather-clad hotties in the last of this long-running series.
The Keys To Serious Drinking (Key Largo, FL) – The total antithesis of our last snow-bound beer festival pick, Brew on the Bay 2017 is returning this weekend to America’s beautiful tropical Keys. Join the Rotary Club this Saturday January 7th for a craft beer event of epic proportions with more breweries attending than ever before and over 100 amazing craft beers offerings. Plus the 6th annual Brew on the Bay culminates with a mind-blowing sunset celebration overlooking the beautiful Florida Bay – and that’s something you’re definitely not going to get out in Colorado.
TV Time – Netflix recently debuted the third season of an award-wining British turn-of-the century gangster epic that takes place in Birmingham, England in 1919, just after the First World War. One of 2016’s Best Television Shows Peaky Blinders is a fictionalized account of the half- gypsy, half-Irish Peaky Blinders crime family and the adventures of their cunning and highly ambitious boss, Tommy Shelby, (Cillian Murphy, in a career-defining role.

Aged in freshly emptied High West Rye Whiskey barrels, Drake’s 2016 Barrel Aged Jolly Rodger Imperial Coffee Porter is a massive 10.8% ABV blend that should be perfect as the temperatures dip.
