A Serious Early November Craft Beer Block Party (Alexandria, VA) – Northern Virginia’s brilliant craft beer emporium, Rustico, will be throwing its 5th annual Novemberfest this Saturday, November 5th – and if you’re in the mid-Atlantic, you need to think about going. Expect seasonal stouts and potent porters, pumpkin ales and session brews, fresh-hop harvest ales, IPAs, sours and barrel-aged beauties. For the second consecutive year, Greg is procuring beers from a dozen brewers rarely found in NVA, including several (including Pen Druid, The Veil, and Commonwealth) that will be making their Northern Virginia debut for the first time. On the Big Screen – Okay we’re as burnt out on these superhero movies as you are – but the trailers we’ve seen of Marvel’s Doctor Strange recall the visual brilliance of Christopher Nolan Inception so we can’t help but be interested. Benedict Cumberbatch (yep that guy!) stars as the aforementioned doctor, a former neurosurgeon who embarks on a journey of healing only to be drawn into the mystical world of the dark arts.
Beer Springs Eternal (Colorado Springs, CO) – The 5th annual All Colorado Beer Festival returns to the Expo Center in downtown, Colorado Springs this Saturday, November 5th and it promises to be good time. This two-session event throwdown will feature hand-crafted seasonals, one-offs and rarities from over 70 of Colorado’s best breweries and the valid excuse for not attending is a family funeral, or maybe you’re in rehab.
