The Brooklyn Brewery Mash Tour Hits Beantown This Weekend (Boston, MA) – One of our favorite travelling beer celebrations the Brooklyn Brewery Mash is in Boston this weekend and will be throwing all kinds of events that you can be part of. Tonight you can join the Brooklyn Brewery crew and Timberland for a free concert at the legendary Royale featuring the sun-soaked rock of Cults and indie pop’s Frances Cone. There will also be a troubling quantity of Brooklyn Brewery beer behind the bars – so you’ve been warned. If you’re up for an evening of serious music and beer all you have to do is RSVP HERE.
On The Big Screen – Benn Affleck’s got a new movie coming out this weekend that given his track record could be brilliant (or not). Affleck stars as a mathematics savant in The Accountant who makes his living as a freelancer for dangerous criminal organizations. So you can expect that things can (and do) go bad…and that’s when the body count starts to rise.
Brew Hampshire (Portsmouth, NH) – The 8th annual New Hampshire Brewfest (a collaboration between Prescott Park Arts Festival, Master Brewers Association of the Americas, Redhook Brewery, and WHEB) is taking place 
this Saturday, October 14th on the Redhook Brewery grounds – and it promises to be a good one. This one-day, two-session event will feature over 100 offerings including new fall seasonals and limited releases from 50 of the region’s most dynamic breweries. And you can check out the beer list HERE.
TV Time – Yes it’s stupid and gross…but it’s also hilarious, just don’t ask us to defend Ash vs Evil Dead which returned to STARZ for a second season last weekend. Produced by noted director Sam Raimi, who originated the Evil Dead universe, this cable series is an addition to the classic horror/humor trilogy from back in the day – and returns Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams as a one-handed loser tasked with battling the evil demons that he inadvertently unleashed. Don’t judge us – we’re begging you.
Craft Beer San Antonio Style (Texas) – The 11th annual San Antonio Beer Festival return’s to the city’s beautiful Maverick Park this Saturday, and it would just be a mistake to miss it. This year’s afternoon throwdown will feature over 400 beer from 150 world-class breweries. Plus they’re introducing a special selection of hard to fine cask-conditioned ales this year that sounds impressive and you can find out more about everything HERE.
A COLD WEEKEND BEER PICK
A cold wave is coming through town this weekend, but we just received a new seasonal from Stone Brewing that should be ideal whenever temperatures head south. Billed as the brewery’s beer interpretation of Mexican hot chocolate and brewed with chocolate that team Stone actually made in-house (!), Stone Xocoveza is an 8.1% melding of Mostra coffee, pasilla peppers, vanilla, cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg with a sturdy malt backbone tethered to English East Kent Golding and German Perle hops.
