The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill

, The American Craft Beer Rumor MillYikes, September’s just flying by…and clearly nothing is slowing down anytime soon. But no worries, because Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that!

SweetWater 420 Fest Headliners Announced (Atlanta, GA) – SweetWater’s 420 Fest is one of our favorite beer & music events and they’ve always been savvy about the acts they invite to headline it. And with a roster of talent that includes Widespread Panic and the Trey Anastasio Band, next spring’s three-day throwdown (April 21st-23rd) promises to be one of their best. As usual 420 Fest patrons can expect a huge musical lineup of jam, rock, alternative, hip hop and EDM talent, performing on four stages throughout Centennial Olympic Park. You can also sample rare beers and interact with brewers in the SweetWater Experience Tent and enjoy live comedy and artisan food and you can get early bird tickets HERE.

Words To Drink By (San Diego, CA) – ““Selling to a macro-brewer is the fastest, simplest way to turn equity in a craft brewery into cash. That’s the only reason to sell to them. Anyone who claims otherwise is full of shit.”

, The American Craft Beer Rumor MillUnintentionally Soured Beer Blamed On Leprechauns! (Lexington, MA) – Reasonable people can debate whether mythical creatures were actually involved…but accident like this sometimes happen. And Clown Shoes Beer is doing the right thing by offering refunds to consumers who purchased bottles of Archdruid, a barrel-aged red ale that was unintentionally soured. According to some reports, not everyone who tasted this unintentionally soured product was disappointed. But if you’re not one of them just mail your receipt or the label (which peels off easily) to: Clown Shoes Beer, PO Box 1033, Burlington, MA 01803

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all the breweries who ship us beer from time to time. And last night we hit up a classic style that we recently received from Genesee Brewing’s small batch division. Genesee Brew House Scotch Ale is a 7.5% ABV “season-changer” with a surprisingly smooth body.
