A National Beer Museum? (Pittsburgh, PA) – Looks like the whole “beer & museum” thing is turning into a movement. First the Smithsonian’s National Museum of History began looking for an official beer historian and now were hearing about big plans for a national beer museum In Pennsylvania. According to reports that first surfaced in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a local group is “going public with its long-brewing plan to make Pittsburgh home to a beer museum that would bring hundreds of thousands of national and international visitors.”
Vietnam Beer War (Ho Chi Minh City) – Southeast Asia has always been a big market for beer. And now global giant, Heineken NV is reportedly at war with Carlsberg A/S in a battle to quench the thirst of about 70 million Vietnamese in one of the world’s fastest-growing economies.
A Stronger Alliance? (Portland, OR) – The Motley Fool investment site is reporting that Craft Brew Alliance (CBA) has done extremely well of late, “posting gains of nearly 50% since last Tuesday’s announcement that Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD) would partner with the company to expand its distribution and cement the position of craft brand Kona Brewing both domestically and internationally.”
