The American Craft Beer 2016 Thanksgiving Rumor Mill

, The American Craft Beer 2016 Thanksgiving Rumor MillHey It’s Thanksgiving time… and we, like all of you, will soon be off celebrating the season. But no worries, we’ll be back in action (and up to no good) on Black Friday. But just because it’s the holidays (and everyone’s already started drinking) doesn’t mean that things aren’t happening… And we’ve plenty of industry news, gossip and innuendo for you to digest along with your turkey.

Brooklyn Brewery Looks To Orange County (Brooklyn, NY) – For the last two years Brooklyn Brewery has been in the hunt for a suitable site for a new production facility that would allow the nation’s 12th-largest craft brewer to keep up with the growing demands for their beers, both here in the states as well as abroad.

Brooklyn Brewery was seriously looking at two different locations in Staten Island, before being wood upstate. And now according to the brewery they are making a proposal to possibly build an $80 million brewery and warehouse at the Stewart Industrial Park about two hours northwest of Brooklyn in orange County New York.

What happens to their Original Williamsburg Brewery remains up in the air. Their current lease runs through 2025 and they hope to keep a presence there.

Words To Drink By (Munster, IN) – “What if today we were grateful for everything?” – Charlie Brown / Peanuts Comic Strip Character on Thanksgiving.

, The American Craft Beer 2016 Thanksgiving Rumor MillDC Brau To Triple Production In 2017 (Washington, DC) – Our friends at DC Brau have just taken possession of an adjoining building allowing them an additional 13,875 square feet of growing room where they’ve already begun constructing a long-planned brewhouse. The new 30 barrel, four vessel GEA Craft-Star brewhouse will operate alongside their current 15 barrel, three vessel brewhouse and afford them to increase their annual production by 360% over the course of the next 8 to 10 years. Obviously co-founders, Jeff Hancock and Brandon Skall are pretty psyched about the future and they hope to have the new brew house up an in action by next April when brewers from all over the country will be in town for the annual Craft Brewers Conference.

Pennsylvania’s Long-Standing Beer Nightmare Comes To An End (Harrisburg, PA) – Governor Tom Wolf recently signed into law a long overdue bill (yah think?) allowing distributors to sell six-packs of beer in Pennsylvania.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – With this being the Thanks giving holidays we decided to hit up something seasonal from , The American Craft Beer 2016 Thanksgiving Rumor MillElysian that fits the bill. Brewed with over 7 lbs. of newly harvested pumpkin per barrel – and roasted and raw pumpkin seeds – Elysian Night Owl Pumpkin Ale is a 6.7% ABV seasonal release that will never make more sense than now.
