Amazon owner Jeff Bezos is no fan of President Trump, so why did his platform remove an anti-Trump beer documentary?

Here’s the deal…

Prior to Donald Trump’s announcement that he was running for President in 2019, Chicago-area and Latinx-owned brewery 5 Rabbit Cerveceria had secured a rich contract with the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago to produce a house beer for the venue.

But after Trump’s infamous announcement where he referred to some Mexican immigrants as drug users, criminals, and rapists, the brewery pulled out of the lucrative contract and renamed the unsold beer, “Chinga Tu Madre.” (F** Your Mother), not the best naming choice either, before settling on “Chinga Tu Pelo” (F** Your Hair), referencing the President’s topical hairdo.

As Polevoi explained to The Takeout “it’s not entirely clear why, or even when, Amazon decided to remove the film from its streaming platform, as neither he nor his production company, One City Films, were informed that there was any kind of issue….”

“We had a 5-star review of the film on June 20th and then I noticed the film was missing on August 4th. We contacted Amazon through our distributor and received the following message.”

“We are always listening to customer feedback and iterating on their behalf. Customer feedback (including but not limited to a combination of star reviews, customer reviews, and/or customer viewing behavior) has indicated that this title does not meet our customer content quality expectations. As a result, all offers (“Included with Prime”, Buy, and Rent) have been removed.”

The film which is called “Witty and Engaging” by Timeout Chicago, and received  three Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award nominations, had a perfect 5-star rating on Amazon before it was removed.

And although the reason why it disappeared from the Amazon platform remains a mystery, beer lovers and Trump haters can still find the 38-minute documentary on Vimeo.
