ABC And ACB Make An IRA

, ABC And ACB Make An IRAAmerican Brewing Company and American Craft Beer. ABC and ACB. Not just alphabet soup, but a collaborative unit. It was only a matter of time before we did something together; and when we did, it was beautiful.

Waking up at 4:30am is not something I do on a regular basis, but it’s also not something that scares me. Like many in the Pacific Northwest I grew up fishing and/or , ABC And ACB Make An IRAhunting, and know a thing or two, about getting up at “zero dark thirty”. And as many American’s understand, there is something really special about rolling out of bed knowing that you are about to create something you are really proud of.

American Head Brewer Adam Frantz and I got together in those early morning hours to brew. We milled grains, we brewed wort, we tasted beer. Adam came to the table with the numbers and the data. I came to the table with a willingness to lift bags and clean things.

And after the style was decided upon, the name was created, the beer was brewed, the label was designed (well played Jeff), and the bottles were filled, the almost 2,000 pounds of malts and grains had turned into one of my new favorite beers. Red-Blooded American Imperial Red Ale.

And I may not be the only one…

Tuesday was the release party up in Edmonds, and everyone in attendance seemed to be enjoying it. Even those that had a little more critical take than my hyperbole, said that they would most definitely be drinking more of it. They were fans. And like a proud parent, seeing a text that reads “the full keg blew before a partial keg of the IPA” filled me with pride.

There have been a few instances, in the time I’ve been with AmericanCraftBeer, that have filled me with this kind of pride and excitement. Let’s be honest, not every article , ABC And ACB Make An IRAI’ve written has been perfect, nor every event is covered well. And I sure as hell know that not all of my interviews have succeeded at a Pulitzer-winning level.

But this…This is something that I am very proud of. We have made a beer that is not only beautiful in color, but very well balanced and pretty gosh darn tasty.

To paraphrase one of everyone’s favorite professional wrestling entrance song, this beer has taken its vitamins, is true to itself, and true to its country… It is a real American.

Red-Blooded American Imperial Red Ale is available in the greater Seattle area now. Make sure you get yours before I go out and grab the rest.
