, 4 Genius Ways To Chill Your Beer Quickly

We’ve all been there. You’re ready to share something interesting with friends but the beer is warm. well here are some interesting ways to chill that thing quickly.

So get on this…You can thank us later.

Forget the Cooler, Go For A Bowl

To chill that beer fast, place your warm beer bottles and/or cans into a large bowl, bucket, or even the kitchen sink and cover with ice. Jiggle the beer bottles/cans every couple minutes. It should take 20-30 minutes to get the job done, but using a cooler could take over an hour.

Basically this method is about scale. I you’ve more ice than beer they’re going to chill faster. And cans seem to chill quicker than bottles so there’s that.

Add Salt to the Ice Water Mix

Salt makes ice water colder by lowering the temperature at which water freezes. So, more ice melts than forms. Melting ice absorbs energy, lowering the temperature.

Salt is often used in ice cream makers to make the water surrounding the inside container cold enough to freeze the cream. In fact, within half an hour or so, the super cold water can freeze sweetened cream enough to turn it into ice cream.

Compressed Air

If things are getting desperate there’s always the compressed air method and if you have a computer you probably have a can of compressed air handy.

Simply spray your beer at close range for about a minute. You’ll see frost form and know that you’re probably done.

Wrap Beer Bottles in Wet Paper Towels and Stash in the Freezer for 10 Minutes

Even though there’s been some debate on this methodology, it always works for us. Take a wet paper towel and wrap it around your beer before sticking it in the freezer. Ten minutes max and you’re done.

Business Insider explains why this happens…

“When you put a damp paper towel inside a dry, cold environment like the freezer, the water will both rapidly evaporate and cool. Because the damp paper towel is wrapped around the beer, the surface area of the paper towel works to cool the beer faster than the surrounding air could do alone.”
