On the Big Screen – George Clooney’s newest directorial effort opens this weekend and the cast alone might be reason to go. The Monuments Men stars George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and ACB fav, Cate Blanchett in a film about a mismatched World War II platoon who lead an effort to rescue some of the world’s art treasures from the war’s destruction. Early buzz on this film has been positive and some have referred to it as this year’s Argo.

, The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – February 7, 2014TV Time – We’ve been binging on Netflix’s excellent American political drama House of Cards–and if you’ve not as yet sampled this dark, dark series – you need to soon. It’s been out there a while–the entire first season debuted almost a year ago. But with season two scheduled to drop on Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get caught up. Set in present-day Washington, DC, House of Cards is the story of Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), a Democratic House Majority Whip who, after getting passed over for appointment to Secretary of State, decides to exact his revenge on those who betrayed him. The series also stars the excellent Robin Wright as his wife, and Kate Mara as an ambitious (and smokin’ hot) reporter who aligns herself with Underwood to get ahead.
