For decades “Natty Boh” was a way of life in Baltimore, a beer as iconic as Oriole Park at Camden Yards, but almost ten years ago that beer left the stadium.

It was first brewed in 1885 by the National Brewing Company, but was eventually purchased by Pabst Brewing Company. For a time, National Bohemian’s president Jerold Hoffberger also owned the Baltimore Orioles; Natty Boh was served at Memorial Stadium and became the “official” beer of Baltimore in the late 1960s.

After a 1975 merger with Canadian brewer Carling, the Baltimore brewery located at the intersection of O’Donnell and Conkling streets was closed as the brand changed ownership several times before ending up with the Pabst Brewing Company in 2000, who brew the beer today.

For over 15 years, the famous Baltimore beer was not available on draft, only bottles and cans, but in February 2011, local taverns in the Baltimore area celebrated the ability to serve National Bohemian from a keg.

And in 2011 National Bohemian also became available on draft at Oriole Park at Camden Yards for the home season, but in 2015 the legendary local lager disappeared for almost a decade.

But now the classic 4.6% ABV lager is making a limited return to the equally iconic ballpark, just in time to celebrate the start of Major League Baseball season.

” Drinking a Natty Boh while watching the Orioles play has been a time honored tradition, passed down through generations of fans,” says Nitasha Chopra – Brand Manager, National Bohemian. “We’re excited to put Natty Boh cans back in the hands of Orioles’ fans. It doesn’t get more Baltimore than that. Boh is back in the yard!”

“It’s always exciting to partner with beloved Baltimore brands, and this partnership with Natty Boh exemplifies that.,” TJ Brightman, Orioles Senior Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer added. “We look forward to offering fans the iconic taste of Charm City to sip on while cheering on the O’s.”

National Bohemian Beer is currently brewed in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Today the old brewery has been converted to office space and is part of the Brewer’s Hill complex.
